Fox Sparrow
This book’s pages were painted in remote coastal forests during summertime sea kayaking expeditions with my husband in Alaska’s Prince William Sound and Kenai Fjords National Park.
BOOK QUOTATION: Besides the Hermit Thrush, the other constant birdsong is the Fox Sparrow, singing, gleaning the intertidal beaches & forests at the water’s edge. Clear notes & buzzy trills, a cheery welcome at every beach… Falling asleep to wave sounds & birdsongs & rainfall, in our tent, pitched between the dense forest and the high tideline, on gravel beach cobbles, shoved about till reasonably flat, cozy & warm, mostly dry, glad.
